Message He did the complete rebuild of his engine himself and knows a ton. After the rebuild, and during the break-in process the car was idling down from 200rpm - then shooting to 1800rpm, rinse, repeat about every 3 seconds. Ash spent some time with it, diagnosed the problem, and had it fixed before the earth had rotated 60 degrees.

And please don't get me wrong, I know where you all are coming from with the responses.. All I can say is I was there the day Vince was at Ash's. If you could've seen how bummed Vince was that his new engine wasn't running right, and then how happy he was when Ash had it purring along in a very short matter of time, you would understand his excitement, and some of that excitement is readily apparent - and contained in his post.

He's also at least a decade older than me, so don't place him as a 'younger' 'enthusiast' because that's simply not the case. English I'm pretty sure is his second language. Meeting him in person, I was very impressed by all of the work he had done (visually in the engine bay too - very tasteful and polished the plenum himself). Again, he built his engine completely by himself and Ash fixed something that would have taken other probably days (or if it was me, who knows how long) to fix. Ash really is a engineering and mechanical marvel, and we all know it. And we all know he's a little crazy too ;)
